Do spelling and grammar mistakes impact SEO?

One question we’ve gotten from time to time at TripleChecker.com is whether spelling and grammar errors impact a site’s SEO (search engine optimization).

While spelling and grammar mistakes do not impact SEO directly, they can have a significant indirect effect. The reason is because users are 85% more likely to leave a website if they see obvious errors.

One of the most important factors affecting SEO is the overall bounce rate (the % of users that leave after viewing just one page). The greater the %, the greater the negative SEO impact. Therefore, the more errors you have on your website, the more likely you will experience higher bounce. The higher the bounce, the more likely your website’s SEO will take a hit.
